![]() ![]() John Stevens has had his Chorus-equipped mount on the road for a few months now. Let's check in and see how it's holding up . . . Click here to read John's first road test installment Hello-- Well I am up to around 700 miles. I finally put a computer on the bike so I can keep track of mileage. Generally I dont use a computer but I thought I should to better judge the equipment. Anyway our ship was under way a bit in January but for 2 weeks in February we were in Honolulu. The first race of the season was Feb 19 and after not racing for nearly 10 years I did pretty good, of course the Chorus Group helped push me along and it performed flawlessly. The race was a criterium, I was in the Cat4/5 we had 27 riders and we went 35 min plus a lap. Anyway, I won one prime and nailed fourth place. So, yes, I am very impressed with the new gruppo. I have been putting in a variety of miles everything from sprints, to long group rides, to hard hill climbs, even commuting a bit. The next race is this Saturday the 4th in Kona then a very hard hill climb back in Honolulu. Wherever I am the bike attracts attention--not so much right away but more of a "Oh , wow, that's TEN speed!" So of course I give them the entire run down on the equipment. I even met a rider on a group ride who said hey there is some one testing the new 10 speed on Campy Only web page, and I said, "Yep, that's me." Anyway, I have received e-mail questions about the new Chorus and have answered many at rides and races. The most common question is will the chain last and do you have to redish the wheel to accept 10 speed. |
