March 2004--"It will be as it was" ... That's an apt description of one of Richard Sachs' latest projects: a recreation of a 1970s-era track bike.

Says Sachs,

"It's a bonefide track frame, 70s style vintage. Not a fixie. Not a scorcher. Not a single speed...

It's all 70s era frame parts: Nervex Ref. 32 lugs, Campagnolo 1053 track ends, Columbus PL fork blades, Reynolds 531 main tubes. Everything as it once was. The client wanted it to reflect a 70s era persona so it will be assembled with full Super Record new-old-stock parts, Cinelli period correct track bars, stem, and saddle, Fiamme track rims w Clement track tubs......

It'll be perfect."
