They're totally different and over-priced.
Hubs below the Record level made after 2006 have cheap cartridge bearings instead of the traditional cup-and cone.
If that's not acceptable you need older hubs (1999-2006 Record/Chorus/Centaur/Daytona differ only in the quick release, grease port on Record hubs, and titanium Record pawl carrier which saves 10g; and other 1997-1999 9 speed hubs are cup-and-cone) or current Record hubs (identical to the 1999-2006 line except they don't have a separate pawl carrier and have a different axle to go with the new freehub).
If it's fine you can get NOS Mirage hubs made in 2000 or later for not a lot of money (E-bay currently shows rears for $37 shipped) which presumably still have nice Campagnolo forgings with coined spoke holes, or inexpensive non-Campagnolo hubs (Miche)
