G Springs - STI?

I'm getting ready to replace my G Springs in my Chorus Ergos - nearly 8,000 miles done. The RH button is starting to feel soft, and I get the odd ghost change. No problem, I've done the job before a couple of times.

It's got me wondering .......

Do ShimaNO STIs have a system like G Springs?
Can they be repaired?
Do they need to be repaired? If not, why do Campagnolo Ergos need repairing every 8,000 miles or so?

STI cannot be repaired or updated. My buddy has a set of Dura-Ace STI that have over 12,000 miles on them and he is quite surprised they are still going good. But, if you crash or wear out your STIs they are done. With Campy you just rebuild or repair them. The G-spring do wear out kind of quick, but they are cheap. Campy spare parts are expensive, but how many people really ride them enough to warrant a rebuild, so they don't sell many, hence, the price is higher It's still WAY cheaper to rebuild a set of Campy ergos and keep riding them, then it is to buy new STIs.
