Any experience with Mirage

I have a Bianchi Axis and would VERY much like to eliminate the 105 shifters that came with the bike. Since it gets ridden in the rain, leaned up against walls and generally subjected to commuting I'd like to get new shifters that I won't have to worry about. Have been looking at Mirage.

Any experience with these? I haven't been able to find a bike in my area (Boston) with Mirage to test drive for first hand experience.

I rode Mirage 8-speed for 6 years with no problems. It's heavier than other groups, but it's still of good quality.

My son's bike has Mirage shifter/brakes and ft/rear ders. He has been using the bike for about two years and has had no problems.
