Alloy or carbon Ergo levers?

Postby Google Desktop » Sat Aug 14, 2004 7:17 am

Hello,

I'm a newbie to the forum, as well as a new switch to Campy!
Rebuilding my old Kestrel 200 with a mix of 04 Record and
Chorus, just now acquiring the parts. Wondering if anyone
has any recommendation on Ergopower shifters - should
I go with the carbon Record levers, or save a bit of money
and get a set of 03 Chorus alloy? I'm not too concernced
about the weight difference, more interested in shifting
smoothness, feel, and durability. Which model is going to
be more durable? The 04 Record and Chorus models are
about the same price (or at least I could find them priced as such)
so was only considering Record in the carbon model. Any
advice?

Ciao!

AFAIK, there is no difference in the internals between the '03 alloy Chorus and '04 CF models. So it comes down to a tad of weight, and aesthetics.
