[quote="Lucky you to be going to Italy to do the Stelvio and Mortirolo, i wish i could go this year too, but i'll have to pass with a pile of work coming my way all the time.
Maybe next year i'll be able to make the trip to Europe, but for this summer all i will be able to do is take my travel bike to the Rocky mountains and enjoy the hills,,,, i mean scenery.[/quote]
Hi Campyfan - thank's for the answers
(I know this next is out of topic, but anyways...)
Now I'm back from a terrific trip to Italy and I can really recommend staying in Bormio - central for the classic climb: Stelvio, Gavia and Mortirolo.
Did the classic Mortirolo-climb with my new Chorus compact crank and smallest gear ratio @ 34/25 and no problems - hard though: much time out of sadle!
Go there - if you can!
There was many Americans in the area - also watching the Giro i guess
I can recommend this place: http://www.casasablonera.it
Miriam is very sweet, speaks fluently english and has a nice, locked up room for the bikes.
