I have a Campagnolo Centaur UT 10 speed compact crankset. It has a stamped chainring, which is cheap-looking and noisy, so I tried to replace the chainrings with a set of Record chainrings (marked EPS C10). To my surprise, the Record rings are thicker where they mount the crank and, as a result, will not mount straight. There is a slight inward deformation at the mounting point under the crank-arm, most pronounced in the 34 tooth ring. It looks like a slightly smaller spacer between the rings (the part marked "E" in the campagnolo diagram) might reduce the deformation?
Is there a solution to enable using Record rings on a Centaur crankset, or are they in fact incompatible?
