new 10 speed Centaur cassette question

Postby Guest » Fri Dec 05, 2008 3:26 pm

I just special ordered a new Centaur cassette 13-26. The cogs in the box are individual but the diagram supplied with the box shows the Centaur cassette has the last two cogs with carriers, and the Veloce has the individual cogs. There is a special yellow spacer in the middle of the cogs. The box has a part number CS9-CEX36.
Can someone tell me if someone at QBP switched the cassettes or I am getting what I am suppose to get?

According to Campagnolo's website, in the spares section, the new Centaur is all seperate cogs where last year's had the built in spacers.

It sounds like you received the right product but Campagnolo has not updated the booklet that comes with the cassette.

Somewhat related to this is I had previously purchased Veloce cassettes for my commuter and a designated trainer wheel.
The finish and quality was pretty nice, but not on the new one I just bought. The finish is almost the same galvanized crap that they used on Mirage and Xenon.

They are definitely cheapining things up.
