Centaur ergo

I just got a set of Ergo 10 spd Centaur levers. The inner lever on the left shifter moves past where it should stop after depressing, such that it is outside the rubber stop on the brake lever, causing chattering on the lever itself.

I was wondering if anyone could diagnose what is wrong with this lever, I assume I need a new shift lever. Functionally these seem to work ok, so I thought maybee a small piece of plastic on the inside of the body would keep the lever slightly inside, preventing the annoying chatter.
