Chorus Shifter compatibility

Postby gasco » Tue Jan 03, 2012 10:28 am

Hi,
I am in the process of my first Steel frame / Campy build and have acquired an early 00s Chorus 10 speed groupset minus the shifters. Chorus shifters from this period seem hard to come by, I am wondering if the modern 10 speed shifters will work?

Many thanks,

G'co

Yes I think so
I run 2010 Veloce shifters with Centaur front & rear mechs which got around 2002. Shifts exactly the same as my other "all 2010" Veloce/Chorus mix bike. I think the wise heads here will tell you that all 10 speed is compatible, apart perhaps from the QuickShift front stuff. I really don't think you will have a problem.

Powershift compatability is unclear.

Campagnolo still makes Record and Chorus second generation QS (not to be confused with Escape, where the QS means a front derailleur ratio change that came along at the same time the Xenon mechanism moved into the Centaur and below groups) levers. $270 for Record and $230 for Chorus from ribble including the cable set.

I bought a NOS set of 2010 Centaur Carbon Ultrashift levers which I've paired with 2004-2006 Record Titanium triple derailleurs although all those have been sold.
