Determining Daytona shifter age?

Postby jlmyers » Sat Apr 03, 2010 3:43 pm

I have recently acquired a pair of Daytona 9 spd shifters. I plan to replace my recently failed 1997/1998 Veloce 9 spd shifters. Is there any way that I can determine whether these are 2000 or 2001 shifters, short of taking them apart and looking at the internals?

I'm trying to figure out if I need to upgrade my pre-2001 veloce rear derailleur also.

Thanks,
JLMyers

I believe all post 2001 levers had either "9 speed" or "10 speed" marked in white at the front of the black plastic/carbon ergo lever body, above the brake lever.
