8 Speed Exa Drive (Mark 1) Cassette Assembly Instructions, revisited as it was locked??? Anyway

I know this is a real old post, but I was going through my Campy catalogues. The question was about assembly of the 8 speed cassette??? My question was the cassette gears or the actual free hub body? Well I’ve reassembled a few. This post might need to be transferred into “tips and tricks’ anyway this would be my tip or trick to assembling or re-attaching the cassette body onto the axel and hub. I use a piece of dental floss and wrap it around the 3 spring loaded de-dents on the cassette body, then just slip it on the axel and push it in position. Dental floss is real strong and slips right out.
I also use dental floss to sew back together sew-ups (tubulars) but that’s a different story…

my trick i learned from Sheldon Brown. use a thin rubber band and tie it to a piece of dental floss the rubber bands keeps the pawls in place once you slide the hub body in place, pull on the dental floss out and out comes the rubber band. easy quick and simple.
I also used to use dental floss to repair sewups but just found myself too old to bother. I use sealant now so i don't have to patch and sew anymore. :D
