10 speed cranks with 11 speed parts

Posted this in the 11 speed forum also.

I want to upgrade my 10 speed to 11 with the rear derailleur, cassette, chain and shifters.

But I have a 10 speed crankset and front derailleur.

Will this work?

I really don't want to invest in new rings and front derailleur if I don't have to.

At the time 11speed came out there was quite a bit of experimentation and online chat about this. Yes a 10 speed C/S and FD will work.

The minimum for a conversion is levers, RD, cassette and chain.
