What to do with crashed or badly scratched brake levers

Re-use them by cutting off the damaged part and using it on your track or fixed gear bike. This is my 1964 Paramount P13 Track bike. A previous owner unfortunately drilled the front fork, so when I got this bike I put a single stray first generation brake caliper (circa 1969) with no “Campagnolo” markings.

I was looking for a brake lever to mount near the stem and decided to re-use a damaged pantograph version with cutouts. I cut off the damaged end, polished the entire lever and the end result is what you see.
