13 CTC
Finishes! May 2002: Completion of the Davis
Double (my 19th time around the Davis DC circuit) capped
my 13th California
Triple Crown. Later, in June 2002, I added another
Terrible Two to
my Palmares. CTC double century total: 54 and
counting . . .
September
29, 2001: I completed Knoxville
Fall Classic Double, capping off a 12-year string of 50
California Triple Crown double centuries, an accomplishment
that placed me in
the California Triple Crown Hall
of Fame. My family (Gregory, Sarah, and wife
Cindy) were on hand to see me inducted in the Hall of Fame (photo
at left). Many thanks to them for helping me get
through the 10,000 miles of riding in CTC events that led up to
this moment! (Thanks to Planet
Ultra for this photo by Chris Kostman)
June
30, 2001: The Campy Only Merlin and I crest the grueling
Fort Ross climb on the Terrible
Two Double Century.
Earlier this year, my finish at the very
hot Davis Double Century capped off my 12th
consecutive California
Triple Crown finish (and my 18th trip around the Davis
DC circuit). Yours truly is the only rider to
have been a CTC finisher each of the 12 years is has been
offered--and we're not done yet!
